Project Description:
The table furniture became a table piece which got from studies into fractal growth patterns. Treelike stems arose into smaller branches until they had very heavy towards the top. Platform Wertel Oberfell together with Matthias Bär, developed the unique table. It was not possible to manufacture unless rapid prototyped.
Fractal Table was designed by designers Platform Wertel Oberfell with Matthias Bär. The modern table copied fractal growth patterns found in nature. The table design accentuated trunk-like legs that shared into ever smaller branches. A patterned top surface was formed. The project was created together with rapid manufacturing company Materialise.MGX.
