Roche Bobois, international leader in top end furniture design and distribution, presented their latest exclusive collections at the Milan furniture Fair. The eclecticism and breadth of range of the brand were represented. Called a game of opposites and similarities, the modern bed was organic rounded shapes for an ultra chic urban environment. The bed design was continuing a 50-year old tradition of creativity and quality. With its softly-padded round-cornered frame and headboard, there was an air of Pop playfulness on the Calisson bed.
(Design Maurice Barilone) oversize proportions were played in the Syntone sofa (below) in the manner of contemporary loft spaces, geometrically appealing elegance and supreme comfort. (Design Roberto Tapinassi & Maurizio Manzoni) A sculptural invitation to comfort, EGOS sofa and armchair were perfect to the private domain as they were to public spaces. Under the theme of ‘Nature, the universal link between east and west’, the myths and stories of Chinese legend inspired Ava chair, designed by Song Wen Zhong. A dragon-like avatar was transformed into a chair, with its long sensuous tapering limbs; a fine yet strong specimen such as a giant ant. Representing the first plastic injection-created design from Roche Bobois, high-tech purity was integrated with organic form.
