According to designboom, the name of scientist James Watson was borrowed for the “Watson Table”. Designed by Paul Loebach , along with three other projects from the collection called” Some Recent Experiments” and belonging to the same designer, this table would be exhibited during Milan Design Week 2011.
Influenced by English furniture of the late 1600?s, in the object there were bold, structural legs that were reminiscent of open wood twistings. Made from a wood and carbon composite, creating a symbolic composition of maximum strength with minimal materials, the inherent rigidity of carbon was utilized on the table design as a structural core. Stylish and modern, the elegant table could be combined in a variety of contemporary interiors for an appealing visual effect.
